Pancreatin: - an enzyme that
helps digest fat, protein, and carbohydrate.
Pantothenic Acid (B-5):-
In the body, pantothenic acid is converted to Coenzyme A,
which is used in many biological processes involving the metabolism
of fats, carbohydrates, and protein, and the synthesis of
steroids, cholesterol, bile, and hemoglobin. It is also involved
in the production of major neurotransmitters.
Papain: - This enzyme (derived
from papaya) stimulates the stomach to increase secretions,
and therefore aids with digestion.
Parsley: - Parsley helps decrease blood pressure and aid digestion,
and also has a diuretic effect.
Pectin: - a naturally occurring
form of fiber, which helps control blood cholesterol levels,
maintain balanced blood sugar, and detoxify the colon.
Peppermint Oil: - This oil
improves digestion and functions as a mild anesthetic.
Phosphatidyl Serine: - This
compound supports and revitalizes nerve cells, and has been
shown in numerous studies to slow or reverse cognitive losses
attributed to aging.
Pine Bark Extract: - See
Pycnogenol and Proanthocyanidins.
Polyphenol Catechins (Green tea
extract): - Green tea extract is a bioflavonoid (synergistic
with vitamin C) that has antioxidant and anticarcinogen properties,
and has shown beneficial effects in treating gingivitis, high
cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
Potassium: - This mineral
promotes regular heartbeat, normal muscle contraction, acid-base
regulation, and bone formation and maintenance. It also helps
maintain water-balance in body tissues and cells, and preserves
or restores normal function of nerve cells, the kidneys, and
stomach-juice secretion.
Proanthocyanidins: - These
nutrients are also bioflavonoids that have anti-inflammatory
and antioxidant properties. They also stabilize collagen (a
component of connective tissue, skin, and bone), and promote
circulation and oxygenation of the blood.
Pumpkin Seed: - Pumpkin
seeds are high in zinc, and useful for prostate conditions
and some parasitic infections.
Pycnogenol: - This nutrient
has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is also
a bioflavonoid (synergistic with vitamin C) that stabilizes
collagen, and also promotes circulation and oxygenation of
blood.
Pygeum africanum: - This
herb has anti-edema and anti-inflammatory properties, and
also absorbs cholesterol, as well as being useful for prostate
problems.
Quercitin: - This bioflavonoid
also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It
has also been shown to help reduce blood stickiness and clumping,
improve circulation, and interrupt the oxidation of LDL cholesterol,
while also helping to prevent deposits of plaque from forming
on the arteries.
